Hardbacks, Backpacks & an Invitation

I finally had the time to visit my family in the York – ‘Shire’ which was a long time coming. It was completely lovely, reminding me how precious the time I have with them is. I have a weird schedule these days, and I never want to just see my family for two days. I want to soak up as much Robinson things as possible- so the 5 days I have had has been bliss.

While I was home, I had a crazy cool email from the Exhibition Manager of an Art Fair down in Chelsea, London. I had the opportunity to display my work down there, having been asked last year to do so.However I couldn’t afford the space for the few days it was held. So the Manager emailed me the other day with a special guest invitation to the preview at Chelsea Town Hall. How amazing!! Typing this down all sounds so posh to me and otherworldly. Kimberley Robinson…being invited to a London Art Exhibition? So I better lose the strong Yorkshire accent, put on my fancy clothes and hand out some business cards. This could be an amazing opportunity to gather connections.

While I was travelling, I couldn’t stop thinking about my ever growing list of books I want to read. The last two books I bought and read within months (Prozac Nation- Elizabeth Wurtzel and The Picture of Dorian Grey- Oscar Wilde) so it’s time to wander through Waterstones and some second hand book stores to see what catches my lil’ eye.

However, here are some books I’m meaning to get a hold of!

  1. Not That Kind of Girl – Lena Dunham
  2. Just Kids – Patti Smith
  3. Heartburn –Nora Ephron
  4. Nausea – Jean Paul Sartre
  5. Bossypants – Tina Fey
  6. Joni Mitchell: In Her Own Words – Joni Mitchell and Malka Marom
