Hello wonderful folk! I had the amazing opportunity to work with the beautiful souls over at the Crybaby Club over in the US, and contribute handwritten love letters to their Crybaby Care Packages. They also interviewed me as one of their Artist Collaborators (check it out here), in which I discuss wellness, and my business Keep Real.
“It is our hope to inspire and unite girls/women all over the world in friendship, all while supporting and empowering one another, and learning to love each other and ourselves for exactly who we are.”
The Crybaby Club is an all inclusive girl gang, celebrating the power of sensitivity through support, art and girl love. Such a beautiful thing to be a part of, and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to contribute to their wonderful network of amazing gals.
If you haven’t checked them out, please do so! Such a supportive gang to be part of, and everyone needs something like this in their lives ❤
You have such a beautiful story ahead of you. There is so much more to experience and love. Treat yourself kindly, and the world will bring love to you in abundance. I want it to shower over you like all the stars around our planet swirls throughout your body and into your very soul- because feeling good and beautiful within is something you truly deserve. Whether it be you, me, the people you love, the people you dislike, the folk you see in the street or on the tv, we all live most of our lives inside our own heads. We can become our own foes, and struggle with our thoughts in such despair, that we can see nothing but the world shrinking away.
Let’s make sure that our minds are nice places to be.
We weren’t born with a purpose of causing trouble, disliking ourselves and limiting our own potential. We are wondrous beings made of millions of stars, particles, of blood and bone. We all have dark and light within us, it is how we deal with our experiences that define us and how we see the world around us. We gotta allow ourselves to feel everything we feel; whether it be sadness, happiness, love, guilt, fear or anger. Harness your power within to manipulate how you experience it. You have the power within you to create such a beautiful life. A beautiful story. What we think, how we react- is what we ultimately become. Your discontent and frustrations are entirely your own creations. We all harness our thoughts in such ways, that they can either become exceedingly good, or downright bad. What a power you hold!! That if you can believe, and be kind to yourself- that your world will evolve into such a wonderful thing. That is the true beauty within us.
You have the power inside yourself, despite your experiences or background, to make your world a joyful and irrevocably happy one. That despite your tribulations, you are the ruler of your own kingdom. Cherish that. Feel that. Make the world inside you bursting with love and joy, that the world around you reflects that.
Hello you! I hope the week so far has been good to you! It’s the middle of the week (or there abouts!), so here’s some mental wellness essentials to get you through ❤
Sometimes the beginning of the week can mega drag. First day back to work or whatever you’re getting up to, has that feel about it- you just wish for a day in bed! Keep that head up you, it’s gonna be ok ❤
Let’s start with some little tips to maintain your flow for the week.
- Eat well – Food, as tasty as it comes- can improve how you feel! I’m not telling you knock back some weird tea, only eat salad or buy organic; eating well does have it’s benefits. The more colour with your meals, the better. Takeaways and quick microwave meals are, let’s face it, the lazy way to fill that lovely tummy of yours. Try get out of the habit and go for something new. If you fancy cooking up a quick little storm, I suggest signing up to ‘Thug Kitchen’- great recipes via email…and vegan too! Find some recipes here.
- Ask for help – It feels tricky to admit that you might need a hand, but there is no harm in it. If you do not ask, you shall not receive. It’s as simple as that. Pluck up the courage to seek some guidance or ask a friend for help. Take a well deserved break and ring up a loved one to have a chat.
- Be a lil’ bit selfish! – You’re here, you’re breathing- it’s your life and you can do whatever you wish with it! Eat that bar of chocolate…go on! Do something for yourself out of your day. It doesn’t just have to be work, eat, sleep and repeat. Catch that film you wanna see, ask a friend out for a drink- do what makes you happy. You can spread that happiness with others too ❤ take that break!
- Meditate – Some may think it’s quite the hippy thing to do, and over-think the whole meditation/ mindfulness way of relaxation, but taking 10 minutes out of your day to focus on yourself, can really improve how you feel about your day. Sit comfortably, relax your body and place your hands where you feel is natural. Close your eyes, count your breath in ‘1’ and breath out ‘2’- right up to 10. Repeat this and just notice what’s going on for you in your body. Slight headache? Bit of tension in your shoulders? Whatever it is, just notice it. Be gentle with yourself. Sometimes your body tells you things when you are a bit stressed. Listen to body.
❤ as always, keep real and be kind to yourself .
Afternoon my lovelies! I’m currently on one of the trains from Yorkshire heading to Cambridge. I’m feeling all sorts of content! I didn’t bring with me any forms of distraction, apart from my leatherbound notebook which I’m writing in. Blatant content watching the world go by. It feels so good to be aware of my surroundings and to wholly appreciate where I’m heading.
It’s a wonderful sense of humanity in a way, to not feel the need to be distracted by technology to make the time pass.
Life is happening now!!
Notice your distractions & be aware of what could potentially be passing you by ❤
We can’t escape pain; we can’t escape the essential nature of our lives. But we do have a choice. We can give in and relent, or we can fight, persevere and create a life worth living – Jacob Held
We all have a choice on how to react and perceive situations. You have the power to create such a beautiful life ❤
Morning folks! (Or afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world!). It’s easy to talk about things you want to do- but not necessarily when it comes to ‘going for it’ and taking the plunge into your aspirations. Talking and doing is not the same thing! So let’s see if we can change that around and start reaching our goals one step at a time!
“There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures.” – Josiah Gilbert Holland
Slow things down. Who ever said greatness is rushed? Refine your strengths and be aware of your weaknesses. You (yes, you!) have the power to achieve whatever you set your mind to. You wanna travel the world? Travel it. You wanna apply for your dream job? Apply for it. The only limit is your own mind most of the time. Don’t be put off by the word ‘failure’. Just because things are not happening right now, doesn’t mean that they won’t. Be kind to yourself, and take things one day at a time. ‘Failure’ is only the word used for people who have not tried. Learn from the experiences and endure!
It’s all easier said than done as they all say. Which it is! But I shall leave you with this quote and leave you to decide if today is the day, in taking steps to reaching your goals. Recognise what they are and take your time with them, be kind and keep on going (and keep real of course). ❤
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse
Hello my lovelies! Hope you’ve all been keepin’ well and keepin’ real.
I stumbled across a box of letters I’ve been keeping these past three years. It started at the beginning of University when I moved away from home, right up until now- where I’ve finished my degree! The majority of the letters are from both sets of Grandparents, some are from other relatives and friends. What a beautiful way to keep in touch! Reading through all of them and delving into all the past letters brought a smile and plenty of memories back.
Writing letters and the act of writing can be an extremely cathartic process for many. Even though it is one way of communication, it is also great for your mental health! It’s fulfilling, wonderful and full of positivity. Especially when writing to loved ones, or even just to write letters for yourself. Writing down how you feel, or writing a note or letter for someone is just a beautiful thing to do. You can put anything and everything you want down on that piece of paper. It’s total free will and there isn’t much else that can be more liberating as a person.
You can pour your soul into those words, your hopes, dreams and frustrations. Compared to the rush of an email or a text it is so much more powerful. Feeling that pen in your hand and taking the time to write it all out, is a process which is sadly lacking in this age. But it is ssssoooo good for you! Whether it’s to catch up with family and friends, or to write down in a diary your thoughts and aspirations- the act of writing is an influential tool to the freedom of the self and expressing sentiment.
It is a profound act of expression. We tend to dwell on past experiences or problems that we cannot see the solution to. Sometimes our heads are so full of thoughts, we cannot see a form of resolve. However, writing down relieves the feelings of inhibition and gives us a greater perspective of our experiences. You can write and write some more, the power is with you. You don’t have to be fantastic at grammar or have fancy handwriting- you just have to be you.
Let those words flow, whether it’s for yourself or to family or friends. It’s good for the soul ❤
